Initial Stage: Visiting Diamond Light Source in Ocober 2021 to meet with the public engagement team and four scientists who were interested in working with us on this project.
After this preparation meeting, our three research fellows from CCCU were given a tour of the Diamond Light Source’s facilities. We were able to observe how light is used to investigate and research.
Phase 1: Working with four scientists in separate online meetings to understanding their research, how they work as scientists, and what led them to what they do now.
Next Steps
We are now preparing for Phase 2 – working in co-creation sessions with Diamond scientists and public engagement team, primary school teachers, STEM Ambassadors and research fellows to develop resources (in the form of zines and activities for Years 5 and 6 primary children). Here are some initial planning notes and sketches.
