Investigating Big Questions/Essential experiences in science is continuing to work in schools this academic year. We have been encouraged by the positive feedback from teacher-researchers who engaged with the project in spite of recent challenges. Key to the project has been our collaboration with teachers to plan, manage and deliver the science investigations in the classroom.

To up-skill enquiry pedagogy, we can offer flexible delivery of CPD sessions to fit around busy teaching schedules. In the classroom, the research aims to explore the nature of science, recognising the distinctiveness of disciplines through their preferred questions, methods and norms of thought, and highlighting that school is a multidisciplinary arena.

Our discovery bag, full of exciting equipment to aid exploration of the nature of science

We have a range of FREE ‘hands on’ science and Big Questions resources available for teachers and students of Year 4-8. If you are interested to find out more about the free science investigations and resources, please contact lasar@canterbury.ac.uk.

In the meantime, please take a look at my researcher story below.
